K-Laser Therapy

From decreasing post-surgical healing time to aiding in the treatment of chronic ear infections, K-laser technology offers a multitude of health benefits for pets, and it is now available at NorthPaws!

The innovative K-laser offers quick, pain-free delivery of targeted infrared light rays to an injured area. After only about five minutes of treatment, these rays fascilitate the body's natural healing processes by increasing local circulation and encouraging cell growth. K-Laser therapy can even help reduce chronic pain and inflammation from arthritis!

Many conditions begin to show improvement after only one or two K-Laser Treatments. Others may require a series of visits over a few weeks for optimal results. Some pets with chronic conditions, such as arthritis or disc disease, experience the most benefit from regular maintenance treatments. What is laser therapy?

Laser Therapy, or “photobiomodulation”, has been widely utilized in Europe by physical therapists, nurses and doctors as far back as the 1970’s. After FDA clearance in 2002, Laser Therapy is now being used extensively in the United States, and we are proud to offer this technology to our four-legged companions at NorthPaws Veterinary Center.

How does it work?

During each painless treatment, laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. The infrared laser light interacts with tissues at the cellular level, and metabolic activity increases within the cell, improving the transport of nutrients across the cell membrane.

Does it hurt? How long does it take?

K-Laser treatment is painless and only takes about 10 minutes per session. Most pets require 3-8 treatments to experience the greatest benefit, however some show improvement after the very first visit!
